The ISO-New England (ISO-NE) Demand Response (RTDR) and Transitional Price Responsive Demand (TPRD) programs promote customer curtailment of electric consumption at critical times or in response to market prices. The Demand Response programs maintain the reliability of the grid and reduce the need for rolling blackouts. When ISO-NE calls a Demand Response Event, customers shed their prescribed electric load for a given period of time. In return, they earn revenue from ISO-NE, whether or not events are called. ISO-NE uses qualified Demand Response providers like Comverge to administer the program.
